I was thrilled to have the opportunity to travel back to Moscow exactly one year since my last trip, but this time to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of luxury perfume brand, Kilian...
Despite the very cold weather, Moscow in the winter feels truly magical, especially on and around the Red Square.
Below I've rounded up my favorite places to shop and a few new restaurants that I discovered and loved. Bundle up and enjoy this latest Dispatch From... Moscow!
GUM | Red Square, 3, Moskva, Russia, 109012
The GUM is a high-end mall with all of your favorite shops under one, beautifully domed glass ceiling. It sits along the Red Square so after you've done your cultural visit, it's the perfect place to eat lunch, enjoy the view and do some fun shopping.
AIZEL | Pereulok Stoleshnikov, 10, стр. 3, Moskva, Russia, 125009
Located a few blocks away from the Red Square, Aizel is the "go-to" concept store in the city for a curated assortment of the best luxury fashion brands including Gucci, Balenciaga, Marc Jacobs and Zimmerman (just to name a few), as well as exclusively Russian cult-favorite brands such as Maison Bohemique and A la Russe. The store is multi-floored yet you feel like you are in an intimate setting thanks to the friendly staff and easy-to-shop merchandising. Owner Aizel Trudel has a sharp eye for luxury and knows her customer inside and out. I was truly impressed!
TSUM | Petrovka Ulitsa, 2, Moskva, Russia, 125009
If you're looking for a bigger luxury department store experience, TSUM is the place to go and also a short walk from the Red Square. Architecturally beautiful from the outside, this department store epitomizes Russian glamour and luxury.
TURANDOT | Tverskoy Boulevard, 26 bldg 3, Moskva, Russia, 125009
If uber-chic perfume brand Kilian chose this restaurant/social club to host their 10-year brand anniversary dinner, you know it's the place to be and be seen. The cuisine is Pan-Asian with a European flair and the atmosphere is lavish and truly special.
REMY KITCHEN BAKERY | Malaya Bronnaya Street, 2, Moskva, Russia, 123104
This Russian-insider favorite is chic yet cozy with plush velvet seats and a lively open kitchen. Both a restaurant and bakery, the cuisine is a mix of Italian, French, Greek, Chinese and Japanese thanks to head chef Glen Ballis who has brought all of the elements from his native home of Melbourne. As a bakery, they have become famous for both their bread and pastries, all of which can be bought to go.
BELUGA | Mokhovaya St, 15/1, стр. 1, Moskva, Russia, 125009
If you like caviar, this is the restaurant for you! With caviar served straight-up or interestingly mixed into almost every dish, this restaurant is as special as it gets for your date night. The inside decor is pure luxury and, as you can see out the window, the restaurant boasts incredible views of the Red Square, which is even more beautiful when lit up at night. It's true decadence inside and out.
GRAND CAFÉ DR. JHIVAGO | Mokhovaya St, 15/1, Moskva, Russia, 125009
Last but not least, I popped into Dr. Jhivago for brunch and loved not only the menu, but also the bright, cheerful decor meant to be a modernized version of what it was like during Soviet times. The food is traditionally Russian and, again, the views overlooking the Red Square can't be beat.
If you have the opportunity to travel to Moscow, check the forecast, get your Visa and enjoy some of of the most beautiful places to visit, eat and shop that the world has to offer!
